Family!
I had a fantastic Christmas! How was yours?!? I wrote a super long
hand-written letter with a ton of details about Christmas. So right
now I will just give you a little "outline" about what happened. On
Christmas Eve we had Presidents and Sisters Clegg and Breinholt from
the MTC Presidency speak to us. They spoke about various gifts that we
have been given and received. It was really great! After the fireside
they told us we were going to watch "Mr. Kreuger's Christmas"! I was
so excited and love that movie. They also gave all the missionaries a
bag of kettle corn. It was wonderful! Then we went back to our room
and I opened my PJ's!! Mom, they are awesome! I won't lie, I was a
little shocked when I first saw them, but then I put them on and I
haven't wanted to take them off since. They are so comfortable and I
love the pockets! Thanks! On Christmas morning we got up and opened
presents. They bracelet from Mexico is awesome! I have worn it ever
since. And the "Christmas" Crunch is fabulous! I loved the ammendment
you made to the box. I took it and some hot cocoa to breakfast. Yum!
After breakfast we went and had a fabulous MTC talent show! It was so
funny! There were some hilarious Russian Elders that did a rendition
of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" song MTC style- "You Missionary Now". We
were all dying laughing. They had amazing Russian accents that made it
1000x better. After the show we went and had a yummy Christmas
"dinner" for lunch. Then- and here is the exciting point of the day-
Elder and Sister Nelson came and spoke to us. Ah-maze-ing! They are
such amazing people and I love them so much! After that we got to go
back to our rooms and eat our paper bag dinners. Yum! That was
special. :D Then... we went back and had a awesome 2-man performance
of "A Christmas Carol". Well- That was a quick account of Christmas in
the MTC!
The Nelson's stayed for the weekend and on Sunday Sis. Nelson spoke to
the Relief Society and Elder Nelson spoke to the Elders. It was
amazing yet again. Love them! Sacrament meeting with our zone was sad!
Have our zone is leaving this week, and all that are leaving saying
"God Be With You 'Till We Meet Again." It was so sad and they had most
of the rest of us crying. I managed to have dry eyes :D. Oh- also on
Sunday my companion Sis. Okada was called as the Coordinating Sister
for our Zone. I am excited for her, but it will be a challange. She
has a ton of meetings and such that she has to go to now, so our
schedule got way buzier. It will be great though and I am excted to
support her!
Besides the events of Christmas, I don't remember much else from the
week. But, I can tell you that I am starting to learn to read the
Chinese Charcters. Man! They are hard! I haven't even really tried
writing them yet cause reading is enough of a challenge :D! There is
hope for me yet that I will get this Mandarin business down! I also
learned this week more of the importance of agency in God's Plan of
Happiness and in our individual lives. I have been reading "Jesus The
Christ" and various scriptures that have really made it stand out to
me. I wish I could remember all the great scriptures, but sadly I
don't. I encourage you all to spend a day reading about agency. It has
helped me understand why God allows bad and awful things happen to
some of the best people. I know that agency is so essential that He
allows everyone to have it- even those who use it badly.
I love you all and hope your Christmas was great and that your New
Years will be great as well!
Loves!
